DevelopmentWA's Housing Australia Future Fund Program is delivering new social and affordable housing across Western Australia, creating sustainable, well-connected communities close to transport, employment and essential services. Artify was engaged as Public Art Consultant for three developments within HAFF Package 2, at Redcliffe, Rivervale and Ballajura.

For each site, Artify prepared the Public Art Strategy guiding the commissioning of high-quality, place-responsive artworks that enrich the public realm and strengthen community identity. Our role spans the curatorial vision, artist procurement and engagement, and specialist advice through design and delivery.

At the heart of the work is a curatorial framework that holds the three sites together while honouring what makes each one distinct. A single connecting theme, Home, overarches all three, reflecting the program's most fundamental purpose: to deliver affordable homes for people, and to honour home as both a place and a feeling. Each site then carries its own theme, drawn from the character of its landscape, and its own artwork opportunities. Redcliffe looks to the skies, with a cohesive series of murals. Rivervale turns to the waters of the Swan River, through a sculptural shade canopy set within a landscaped garden. Ballajura draws on the earth, with bold entry statements spanning sculptural fins, canopy and wall treatments.

Redcliffe and Rivervale are being delivered through a curated longlist approach, with three artists shortlisted per commission to develop paid concept designs before one is selected. Ballajura is offered as an open Expression of Interest, inviting artists to respond directly to the opportunity.
