Artify was engaged by LaunchPad Golf as public art consultant for a new artwork at the Fremantle Public Golf Course, on Whadjuk Noongar boodja in Walyalup. The golf course is being redeveloped to house LaunchPad Golf, a driving range with interactive game technology alongside a new clubhouse and dining facilities. The public art opportunity is a voluntary contribution by the developer for the community, and has been opened only to a Whadjuk Noongar artist to celebrate local Whadjuk culture and Country and to connect the facility to place.

The artwork will sit on the southern facade of the LaunchPad building, facing Booyeembara Park. This is a site with a layered history, from the limestone hills that formed part of a significant Whadjuk landscape and the Seven Sisters of Walyalup dreaming story, through its years as a quarry and later a landfill, to its transformation into regional parkland through a community-led vision of sustainability and reconciliation. Booyeembara is a Noongar word meaning of limestone hills. The park already holds several artworks touching on ocean life, the sedimentary formation of limestone and the bridging of land and water, and the new commission is invited to research these works and expand upon or tell new stories about this place.

Artify coordinates the procurement and commissioning of the artist and acts as the point of liaison between the artist and stakeholders through the critical phases of design, production, installation and handover. A longlist of Whadjuk Noongar artists was presented for consideration, with the selected artist engaged by direct commission to develop concept designs ahead of appointment for the full artwork. The commission is guided by the City of Fremantle's Aboriginal Engagement Policy and reviewed by the City, with cultural endorsement from a suitable Elder with authority on the site central to the process. The artwork is expected to be installed by mid 2027.
