Artify was engaged by Fiveight to develop the Public Art Strategy for the redevelopment of Cape Lodge, a distinguished luxury retreat set across a 40-acre estate in Yallingup, in the heart of the Margaret River wine region. The site rests on Wardandi Noongar boodja, and the strategy guides the commissioning of a significant Percent for Art work that responds to the cultural and ecological richness of this Country.

Working alongside the project's design team of CAST Architecture Studio, Rezen and See Design Studio, Artify developed a curatorial framework grounded in the deep time of the landscape, from the slow sculpting of limestone caves by underground rivers to the enduring custodianship of Wardandi people spanning more than 40,000 years. The overarching vision, Deep Time, invites artists to explore how water, wind and human presence have shaped this place, revealing the ongoing conversation between geological forces, ecological systems and cultural knowledge.

Two curatorial themes extend this vision. Carved by the Elements considers the patient transformation of matter through erosion and forming over millennia, encouraging artists to speak in the landscape's own language. Rooted Wisdom celebrates the deep ecological and cultural intelligence of this globally significant biodiversity hotspot, where endemic species and Wardandi knowledge systems have evolved together.

Alongside the curatorial framework, Artify has mapped the full commissioning pathway for the project, from artist briefing and shortlisting through concept design, design development, fabrication and installation.

The commissioned artwork will greet guests at the entrance to Cape Lodge, adjacent to the restaurant, marking a significant arrival destination within a universally accessible setting. Conceived not as an imposed object but as a work that emerges from deep listening to Country, it will embed moments of reflection, storytelling and texture into the site
