Artify were engaged by DevelopmentWA as the Art Consultant for the Ocean Reef Sea Sport Club and Marine Rescue Whitfords project. This project saw the commissioning of one local artist, Adam Cruickshank, to design and fabricate a series of site specific, architecturally integrated artworks for the project. These artworks include a custom designed fence, bench seating, and sandblasted groundplane designs.

Common Waters brings together digital processes, reclaimed materials, and site-responsive design to reflect the ocean as both a physical force and a social connector. Drawing from wave patterns, wakes, meteorological data, and seafaring histories, the works abstract the dynamic textures of the marine environment - its constant flux, layered movements, and shifting light. The three artworks explore the shared, lived relationship between people and coastal environments, translating the rhythms of water, movement, and human presence into material form. Across the groundplane, fence, and seating elements, natural and industrial materials are repurposed to hold memory: salvaged timbers carry traces of local maritime infrastructure, while concrete, metal, and mosaic echo the durability and erosion of the coast.
