Penelope Forlano /

Project and Design Lead

Penelope joined Artify in 2025 as Project and Design Lead, bringing over 25 years of experience in public art, architecture, design, and academia. She specialises in integrated artworks that tell stories of place, connect communities, and transform the built environment, guiding projects from strategy through to delivery.

Her practice is underpinned by a PhD from Curtin University, where she investigated how architectural components can embed cultural and kinship narratives. This philosophy continues to shape her work with architects, engineers, fabricators, and Aboriginal Elders and artists, ensuring design integrity and cultural respect across complex projects.

Penelope has delivered significant commissions for METRONET, Perth Airport, Bob Hawke College, Willetton Senior High School, Fremantle College, the WACA, and Bethesda Mental Health Clinic. Her work has been recognised nationally and internationally, including the Asia-Pacific Luminary Indesign Award (2021), and is represented in collections such as the Parliament of Western Australia, AGWA, ECU, and the Louis Vuitton Art Collection.
