Artworks will be assessed by a panel using the following criteria:
Theme: How well it explores the idea of Here Together
Creativity: How original and interesting the idea is
Skill: The care and technique shown in the artwork
Public Realm Suitability: How effectively the artwork fits the context of a public space.

The 2025 theme is ‘Here Together’, inspired by the 1909 Subi East smoke stack by artists Abdul Abdullah and MOMO. Students are invited to reflect on community, togetherness, and what it means to share place and time with others.

Existing and new artworks in a range of mediums are welcome, including both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works. Accepted mediums include: Illustration, Painting, Digital Art, Sculpture (photographed), Photography, Textiles, Poetry, Printmaking, Ceramics (photographed), Mixed Media, Collage, Graphic Design, Jewellery Design, and Weaving.

No. You do not frame your work. Selected pieces will be photographed and reproduced professionally for the exhibition.

Students from Perth Modern School and Bob Hawke College, in Years 7–12 (2025 school year)

Yes, you can submit up to two artworks. Each artwork will need to be submitted as a separate entry form.

No. Selected works will be photographed and professionally reproduced for public display on hoardings throughout the 1909 Subi East site.

Yes, original works (if requested) will be returned after being professionally photographed.

Not all submissions will be included. A selection panel will review all entries and curate up to 100 artworks for the final exhibition.

Here Together invites students from Perth Modern School and Bob Hawke College (Years 7–12) to submit original artworks for a temporary public art exhibition in Subiaco.
Up to 100 artworks will be selected and printed on hoarding panels displayed in the open air across the historic 1909 Subi East site.
Here Together is hosted by DevelopmentWA, the State’s land and development agency, in partnership with Artify, a Perth-based art consultancy that works with artists to bring public spaces to life through art.

All submissions must be received by 2pm on Friday 19 September 2025
