DevelopmentWA invites local, national and international artists or artist teams to create a suite of public artwork commissions as part of the Ballajura development, delivered under the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), a broader program to provide high-quality social and affordable housing in well-connected locations.
HAFF Ballajura will introduce new residential dwellings, landscaped public spaces and enhanced pedestrian connections, creating opportunities for integrated public art that reflects the character of the area and contributes to a welcoming, inclusive and connected community.
This opportunity invites an artist or artist team, with at least one member residing in Western Australia, to design, fabricate and install a bold and welcoming public artwork integrated across the two primary entries to the development.
Scope
The artwork will form part of the architectural expression of the entries and may extend across a combination of sculptural fins, entry canopies and wall treatments. Artists are encouraged to consider the opportunity holistically, exploring how these elements can work together as a cohesive artwork.

Local, national and international artists or artist teams with at least one member residing in Western Australia.
Process
Three artists or artist teams will be shortlisted from the Expressions of Interest received and invited to develop a Concept Design Package, for which a fee will be paid. From these, one artist or artist team will be selected to progress their design and deliver the public art opportunities outlined in the brief.
